Stop renting a VPN you do not control

It rarely happens all at once. First your VPN gets slower, then certain servers stop working, then whole regions become unavailable, and eventually it just stops connecting entirely. This is the pattern commercial VPN users have been living through in country after country as their providers get progressively blocked.
